The British government is reportedly sending armored missile launchers to Ukraine as the Russian offensive enters a critical new phase.

Stormers are armored vehicles capable of carrying high-velocity missile launchers (HVM), which can fire up to 17 Starstreak anti-aircraft rockets to disable enemy jets and helicopters.

They are reportedly the world's fastest short-range surface-to-air systems, traveling at over 2,000 miles per hour, nearly three times the speed of sound.
Starstreak uses a three-projectile system like an arrow that allows multiple hits on the target. Once the projectile is fragmented, it is laser guided to the target by an operator on the ground.

Unlike other missile systems, Starsreak does not lock on to targets using infrared energy, meaning enemy fighters cannot take defensive action against them.
British manufacturer Thales said it was "optimized to provide defense against air threats including fixed-wing ground attack fighters and unmasked attack helicopters".
A video emerged this month showing the Ukrainian military using British-made anti-aircraft missiles to shoot down a Russian drone, while there are unconfirmed reports that they have been used against helicopters.

Ukrainian troops have also been provided with stray ammunition and non-lethal aids such as helmets, body armor and night vision goggles. Boris Johnson will hand over the Stormer Armored Missile Launcher to Ukraine to wreak havoc on Mad Vlad Putin's army.

Britain Sends Stormer Anti Aircraft Vehicles To Ukraine
Sources say the Ministry of Defense demonstrated the Ukrainian Stormers Punch in a demonstration on Salisbury Plain two weeks ago.
The high-tech 13-tonne launcher can be loaded onto a C-17 transport aircraft and flown into battle in a matter of days.
And they would let President Volodymyr Zelensky's men get to 50 miles per hour, open fire, then accelerate.
The deployment of the "handful of Stormers" with 120 personnel carriers already marked a significant increase in the heavy armament of the British.

A source said: "It's no secret that the UK has committed to helping Ukraine with its anti-air capabilities.
Colonel Richard Kemp, former commander of British forces in Afghanistan, said: "The Stormer/Starstreak combination will provide a major boost to Ukraine's combat capabilities.
"This is a highly effective and highly mobile combat vehicle that would seriously undermine any low-level strike attempt by Putin's air force."
But he warned: "The news will anger Moscow which is already threatening reprisals against the West - particularly Britain - for arms supplies.

“Unless Putin wants to start a war with NATO, he cannot strike at arms supplies before they enter Ukraine.
"However he can carry out cyber attacks, sabotage, assassinations or other covert attacks that have been proven by his intelligence services, including in the UK."
And the Henry Jackson Society security think tank Dr. Alan Mendoza said: "This vehicle is the best kit ever delivered to Ukraine and will save the Russian pilots.
"The UK informed Putin that Russian aggression, war crimes and rocket attacks would no longer be tolerated. The UK should wear Putin's inevitable angry and very angry response to this as a badge of pride."
Starstreak Missiles And Manpads: How To Win The Air War In Ukraine?
Defense analyst Nicholas Drummond says the Stormers' low ground pressure makes them ideal for crossing wet ground in Ukraine this month and next.
Sources said they would discuss plans to increase the supply of defense weapons and impose more sanctions on Putin's cronies.
This follows last week's talks in which the UK and US agreed on the need to quickly develop a long-term security strategy for Ukraine.

The Elvis Stormer is a military armored vehicle manufactured by the British company Elvis Vickers, now BAE Systems Land & Arms. The Stormer is an evolution of the CVR(T) vehicle family (Scorpion, Scimitar, Spartan, etc.), essentially a larger, modernized version with additional road wheels on each side.
Like most modern AFVs, the Stormer can be produced in a number of different configurations for different battlefield roles. Marketed by BAE it is available in several configurations, such as a two-man turret armed with a 25 mm gun, air defense (with guns or missiles), gunner vehicle, recovery vehicle, ambulance, mine layer, 81 mm or 120 mm mortar carrier, command vehicle and control, bridge lining, and logistics vehicles. Optional equipment includes a nuclear-biological-chemical protection system, amphibious kit, passive night vision equipment and air conditioning system.
The British Army uses the Stormer armed with High Velocity Missile (HVM) - Starstreak and Martlet (missile) aka Lightweight Multirole Missile for short-range air defense. Under the Army 2020 plan for the UK Armed Forces, the HVM Stormer will equip three regular artillery batteries and two reserve batteries. To reduce training load, all spare batteries have been converted to HVM Lightweight Multiple Launcher (LML).

The Stormer transport version with a flat load bed is used to carry the Shield mine laying system.
The Stormer 30 is an evolution of the Stormer chassis as a tracked reconnaissance vehicle. This is the tower version of Stormer. It was armed with a 30 mm Bushmaster II automatic cannon. The TOW missile launcher can be mounted on either side of the turret. The gun and turret can rotate 360°. Altitude ranges from -45° to +60°.
Maximum gun rate of fire is 200 rounds per minute from one shot. The gun has a selectable dual ammunition feeding system with 180 rounds of ammunition ready to fire.
It's in the prototype stage and it's unclear when it will enter service. The vehicle will be fully air transportable with the Lockheed C-130 Hercules used by Royal Air Force aircraft as well as Sikorsky CH-53 helicopters in service with NATO allies and other nations around the world.
